Name That Car.
The new little blue car is desperately in need of a good name. I subscribe to the theory that every car should have a name suitable for its owner, and since I have little objectivity when it comes to myself, I’m appealing to you to name it for me.
It needs to be short and catchy, and apropos of me and the lifestyle we’re living. Cuz, ya know, no Plain Jane will do. All you have to do is leave a comment with the name of your choice. Preference given to something I can say out loud in front of a 3 year old…please no bad words! Not that y’all would ever do that.
Here’s the car, a 2008 Toyota Yaris whose plates happen to say “HIPY CHC”

And here’s the prize:

A beautiful sterling silver inspirational necklace from overstock.com. It looks like this is 3 necklaces, but it’s actually only 1 with all 3 pendants hanging down vertically. There’s a story here…I bought myself a stackable ring from overstock.com at Christmas. It says, “faith hope love” and I Cor 13. It reminds me everytime I look at it. To keep the faith…to always have hope…and that without love, everything else is meaningless. I thought someone else might appreciate the sentiment as well!
The winner will have this shipped to them with a lil note from me. What’s not to love about that? So get crackin’! Name my little car and put on some inspirational bling.
P.S. I’m not taking this post down until there’s enough comments to choose from. So…if you don’t want to see this for a week, leave a comment! Pffft.
Winner announced tomorrow 1/14!

Your car reminds me of a blue shmoo. Remember the Shmoo? (Don’t tell me I’m THAT much older than you, that you never knew the Shmoo!) Name your car Shmoo! The Shmoo was there to love you and give you everything you need. The Shmoo wanted to solve all your problems and make you self-sufficient, with everything he provided.

I’m voting for Blue Butterfly (or Blue Morpho {a type of blue butterfly}, if you want it a little more superhero sounding). You’re changing, coming out of your coccoon, showing your beautiful colors. You’re going to fly (or at least zip around independently in your cute little blue car)!

How about Matilda? I’m not sure why it looks like Matilda to me, but you have to balance out the testosterone in your house somehow. You and Matilda will have to stick together!

Hi Rach-
Well, I thought long and hard for the perfect name. As, you know I am on a bit of a rollercoaster ride myself right now. So I got to looking for a Zen term for new beginnings for you.
Here is what I found:
“There is even a Buddhist term, Honnin-myo, which expresses the concept that every moment is a new beginning”.
I LOVE that concept. How about we shorten the term and just call that adorable car “Myo”.
