Google lets me down

I was going to title this “I developed a life threatening disease over the weekend” or “apparently I contracted ear cancer from swimming” but I’m sure somebody somewhere has done this and would be offended at me poking fun.

Suffice it to say that it’s 1:30 in the morning, I have a conference set up at 6:30 am, and I can’t sleep.  Can’t swallow without lots of pain, allergies going crazy, lots of fluid in my ear and one ear really hurts.  So of course…I got up and Googled.

Who knew lil pill’s splashings–repeatedly–in the pool over the weekend could make me so miserable?  Apparently I have either a rare form of cancer or an ear infection, but there are approximately 348 (I’m not making that up) causes for earache so it’s a crapshoot which one.  I’ve heard sinus infections are the worst so hopefully it doesn’t come to that.  Let’s see, my schedule for the next 2 weeks: today-Friday spent in a conference, 2 day weekend, Tues-Thurs spent in a conference, a Saturday at work, then another Tues-Thurs conference.  Great time to be sick, Universe!

Guess I should’ve stayed inside and made more sauce.

Regardless of the cause, a decongestant might help. It’s worth a shot. If nothing else, it’ll dry up the ooziness.

A few drops of rubbing alcohol in each ear works wonders after swimming.
    Hope you are better.

I decided to do a drop of bactine, take a nyquil, and then a claritin if I wake up. Hopefully that will do something for tonight.
